Hello! :)

My name is Amani (she/her). I'm a multidisplinary artist and coder based in NYC. I center my practice in building solidarity, and my goal in life is to make the world a generally better place to live. You can find my CV here, and you can contact me at hiamani@pm.me.

  • I run a publication called Forward / Scratch, which publishes articles on the relationship between music and political movements. There you can see examples of my cover art, writing, UI/UX design, and frontend layout.
  • I'm also launching a project called Wavefloor, a wage survey that aims to achieve pay equity in nightlife.
  • I've been programming for over 10 years. I specialize in functional programming (my favorite languge is Clojure, a dynamic, immutable, and functional LISP). I write other languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, and Python — and I've dabbled in Haskell, OCaml, and Rust.
  • I organize with DAA (DJs Against Apartheid), a grassroots nightlife organization fighting to end the genocide in Palestine. I've also helped run tech for NOTA (No Tech for Apartheid).
  • I'm also a DJ myself! I play as 30,000AD. You can listen to my work on SoundCloud, and reach out to me at 30kad@pm.me for bookings.
